Fillmore Archery Shoot

If you don't already know, we belong to an archery club. We attend "shoots" all summer long, mainly down south. This weekend was the first one of the summer, and the weather was perfect! (expect I got burned to a crisp b/c I'm the only one who didn't put on sun screen...ouch!) Anyway, the kids had a blast, Kardyn walked pretty much the entire course, which is awesome. They have 20 targets set up, and it usually takes us a few hours to get through, so I was pretty impressed.

I just love this shot because Staci is packing Brandt around on her back, I think he was making it hard for her to shoot because he wouldn't hold still :)

Chase is starting young....he had this little bow last year, but I think it's becoming more of a struggle for him because he's left handed, and this is a right handed bow. I guess we'll have to get him a better one soon, he get's a little frustrated since he can't really hold it

Both of my kids LOVE the targets, they always have to tell them bye when we leave...it's cute

Grandpa gave Brandt some licorice back at camp....NICE

Tim found a snake, which like 2 of us almost stepped on....and of course Jason had to pick it up, then all the kids wanted to touch it. NO. THANK YOU. I hate snakes

Crissy and her boys came out to have a sleep over while she was visiting Utah, she made my day...thanks for hanging out with us, we miss you like {crazy}

Just a taste of some of the yummy things I've been making....

These are to DIE FOR. Chocolate chip cookie dough cup cakes. They are amazing. {Here} is where I found the recipe if you want to make them.

why not

Since I'm always in the need of a project to do, I've been hanging out ad the DI a lot...I found this ugly gold frame and thought it would be cute in Kardyn's room, so I painted it pink and then spray painted it with a shiny clear coat.

I also found these mirrors, they had 2

painted them shiny black...I LOVE them! One hangs in my room, which I think matches perfectly with my decor, an the other one is in Kardyn's room.

I also made this bow holder with a DI find. All the pics are backwards, but sorry, I don't have time to fix them

the board got wrapped with just some black fabric I had around the house. I wrapped it like a present and just ended up using hot glue to make it all stay in place. Hot glued my ribbons on, and tah dah! Super easy and it cost me $2 for the board, I had the rest of the supplies all ready.

Tim finished editing my photos for me and they turned out beautiful! I can't wait to have them in my house

nap time follow up

I just realized that I never followed up with my nap solution for Kardyn...(see this previous post)I must share my success! So I think when my husband finally realized how much I was struggling with her nap, he did some research for me. He found me this product:

It has saved my sanity. It is made by the same brand that makes those heaven sent Teething Tablets that you can buy at Target and Wal-Mart. They are homeopathic and made by a brand called Hylands. (however, I did have to order this product online, no one in my town sells this product) This is some info that is in the product description: This medicine is designed to safely and effectively counteract mental and physical restlessness in children. Addresses other causes that can inhibit children from sleeping well, including night terrors, growing pains, and sleeplessness from vacation travel. Useful for irritability and wakefulness, Can be used with other medications without contraindications or drug interactions.

Kardyn gets 2 dissolving tablets about 20 minutes before I put her down for her nap, and another 2 when I actually put her in bed. Since she has been taking these, she doesn't even let out one scream when I put her down. Hallelujah! No more crying for hours on end! Granted her naps still are not as long as I would like, but I can deal with that just as long as she's not screaming anymore. I'm so happy and I'm glad that she's happy. Not as fussy in the evenings anymore and she's back on track!

"Mom, where is this post office?"

Yesterday I told Chase we were taking his friend Parkers birthday present to the post office to be mailed off to Oregon. However, we were really going to his birthday part in Orem. They are in town for the week and I thought it would be fun to surprise him. Well he was, although we had to drive pretty far and Chase knows where the only post office in town is, so he was a little confused when I kept telling him we are going to a special post office. Good thing he fell asleep in the car on the way. Parkers party was at this place called Pirate Island in Orem. It was pretty cool.

The kids all had fun playing on the toys and riding rides and playing games.

They had pizza for dinner and Kardyn and Jordan got pretty messy

Crissy made Parker a Wall-e birthday cake, it turned out awesome!

Then a bunch of pirates came and sang happy birthday, but I don't think Parker really cared :) There was a cool pirate guy dressed up as Jack Sparrow, but I didn't get a picture of him dang it

Well the kids had a blast and it was so fun to see our friends!
