A new hope

I was able to watch most of the President's address tonight, and I really enjoyed it. He has a lot of hope and great ideas, let's just hope all his motivation can produce some of these things he's been talking about. I'm excited for our new President and I hope he does our country some good!
On another random note, I forgot to mention in my post about my house, that I have already taken pictures down and all that jazz...I know it's unimportant to everyone else, but when I look at my pictures and posts in years to come, I want to remember for myself!

Cute Chase

I just had to post a few cute things about Chase that I should have done with his birthday, but forgot. He's seriously turning into a funny kid, it's so cute. I decorated the kitchen on Valentines day with just some pink harts I cut out of pink paper, and he walked into the room and said "wow, mom, look at all the harps!" He also tells us knock knock jokes and does magic tricks for us. I think he gets that from the digital short that's on Wall-e. He also will randomly answer my questions with a "aye aye...Captain" or "yes sir." He also thinks he's a pirate sometimes, and says, "arrgg...I'm a pirate" all while squinting and making his finger look like a hook. He also tells everybody that comes to my house to "take off their shoes please," and when they leave "thanks for coming over." The other day while my Mom was here, as we walked in the house, he said "welcome home Nana." He know says that alot. Today, Tim came to my work so I could sign some papers, and Chase added, "Nice to see you mommy!" Oh, and at his birthday party, Chase wanted to make sure he got to eat the head of the spider...what..why?! He's so cute, I love my Chase!

"A Birthday? For Me?"

Last Friday Tim told me we were going to the airport to pick up a friend that has been moving back and forth and just needed some help. So we go to get him, and instead, I see my Mom! They had kept it a secret from Chase and I that Nana was coming! The kids had lots of fun, as you can see.

I have a friend who decorates cakes, so I asked her if she would help me out. We picked this one out, and she let me use her cake pans and icing tips. She also gave me her recipe for the cake and the icing. It turned out soooo cool, I love it! Oh, and Chase loved it too! 

He didn't get to see his cake until we were at his party, he just kept talking about his spider cake. in fact, he sill does...all day!

We just had a small party for him, just so he could play with his friends. He doesn't get to see them as often anymore because I work during the day most of the time. 

So Chase had a fun day, he loved playing with his friends and I can't believe he's 3 years old! He's turned into a chatterbox and he's developing quite the funny little personality. He loves to tell knock knock jokes, and always has a funny, random comment! I can't wait to see what he'll be like in the next 3 years!

It's a sad day for me....

Ok, so my sad day was really last Friday when we had a "For Sale" sign put up in front of our house. I was so not ready for that! First update is....Tim does not have a job yet, but we feel that we need to get things moving with our house. Being hired back into his old job is probably not a possibility anytime soon. That being said, there is no place here for Tim to work in design. Whether or not he decides to do design for the next few years, is still being decided. We have some options, but are unsure yet. His field is over saturated because so many companies get rid of marketing when things go south, which means hundreds of designers are applying for the same jobs that Tim is applying for. We'll keep you posted with job info when we find out more. Anyway, I've decided to share some pictures of our home. It's going to be very hard for me to leave, I'm already emotional about it. Tim and I bought this house before our kids were born. We worked on it together and accomplished something as a team. After that, we brought Chase home to this place and after that, our sweet baby girl. In between, we've had the opportunity to make lasting friendships. I can't even begin to start thanking everyone for the things that they have done for me and my family through the 4 years that we've lived here. We will truly miss this place. We have things we never did finish that we wanted to, but never got the chance, I'll mention some as I go. First is the outside of my house, which is why I'm not showing the picture. I REALLY wanted to paint it, I think I actually HATE the outside color of my house. Some tell me it's not so bad, at least it's not mint green like the one down the road! Anyway, here is my entry way, with this nasty door, and lovely flooring and carpet that had been in this house since it was built in 1981.

This is after....my front door is my favorite! We never got around to replacing all the inside doors and hardware, but I'll show a picture of the only one we did later. Oh, and the walls are bare, we took down everything that had faces in it.

Oh, added bonus, when we moved in, she left us those "custom" pink drapes, YES!

Kitchen after, we added some more cabinets for more storage. The pantry was a must in a kitchen so small, that was the best thing we did in there!

And after. We didn't do much in here, paint and floor. We thought it better not to spend more money on the cabinets when we are loosing money now on this house.

Well, that's that. I'm sad, I love my house. Good news is, it's only been on the market for 4 days and we have one offer, plus 2 in the works. Too bad it's not making us any money! Oh well, you live and you learn! I'm actually feeling a burden being lifted as we speak, one of the things that has been hard for us, is feeling "stuck" in this house while Tim has no job. I can't even begin to tell you how blessed our family has been through these last few months, it has truly strengthened us as a family and individually. Hopefully things will continue go well, we'll keep you all posted!
