Free Ice Cream

Last Thursday Cold Stone was giving away free ice cream to benefit the Make A Wish foundation. So we went down there and they had a police car and a fire engine that the kids could get into. Chase loved it! Especially the fire truck. They showed him all the cool things, like the hoses and stuff. He didn't want to get out of the truck!

6 quirks tag

So I got tagged by Whitney, I have to come up with 6 quirks, who knows how long this will take me!
#1. Toilet paper has to roll from the front. The other way bugs the crap out of me
#2. I'm a compulsive hair puller, it's a real OCD thing, yeah, weird, I know.
#3. I manage our check book, however I'm really bad at math. Luckily it's simple math and I use a calculator, hehe!
#4. I used to be addicted to nose spray, don't ask!
#5. I clean when I get bored
#6. Chase's sippy cups have to have the matching lid on it, or it drives me crazy. My husband found that out the hard way!
I like Whitney's way to forward this tag, so if your name starts with a J you are tagged!

my babies

So here they are, both only a few days old. I don't think they look much alike. Sorry for the blurry picture, this one is Kardyn.
Chase 3 days old.

brother and sister

How cute is this shot! Now I'm not sure what she's thinking in this picture. It could be cute older brother picture, or some scary thoughts of what he already does to her! She's pretty tough, although she has a voice when she is not happy at whatever it is he's bothering her with. She has developed one loud cry! It's one of those cry's that any normal mother would come running to when she hears because something really bad has just happened and she MUST be hurt really bad! Nope, that's her normal cry! Kind of funny how I had to change my way of thinking with her. She is such a drama queen already! I also thought this picture was great because as soon as I opened it in photo shop, I instantly saw my mom in her. It's funny too because the first thing that I said to Tim when Chase was born was "he looks like your dad!" These kids just really don't look much alike to me, especially their baby pics. I'll post some tomorrow for you. I really must go to bed now, I've been doing "boot camp" 3x a week at 5:30am. It's a great workout but I never thought I'd ever get up that early to exercise!

Crazy Night of Canning

Last Thursday night Crissy and I worked on canning pears. The hard thing is, we need to do it when all our kids aren't around. So we decided to work on it after they went to bed. She came over around 9pm.

I think we are starting to get tired at this point, no wait, I mean GIDDY. You know like when you were a kid at a sleep over and once it gets past a certain time in the morning, your like super happy, yeah, that was us.
Here was the last batch, notice the time on the stove. I only slept for 45 minutes that night, but hey, I guess the blessings outweigh the lack of sleep!

P.S.- I still have more pears to do and I have to finish my peaches!

1. As a comment on our blog, leave one memory that you and I(or any of my family members) had together. It doesn't matter if you knew us a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions (if you haven't done this already) on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

Big boy...or not?

Up until today, Chase has had no REAL desire to go on the potty. Even though I ask him every single day when I change his diaper if he wants to go on the potty and that he gets ice cream and I won't have to change his diapers anymore. He has sat on it before, and hasn't been scared or anything, just no interest yet. Then out of nowhere today he asked if he could sit on the potty. Alright, took him in, he took of his shorts and diaper. Nothing. 10 minutes after he got off, he asked again. I thought yeah right, so I put him on and left to check on Kardyn. I came back and he'd peed! I was ecstatic! I think I was more excited than he was! So, he got his ice cream (which was the 1st incentive, I planned on getting something else if he ever really went) and he probably went at least 6 times today! So tonight we went and picked out his "Handy Manny" underwear, which is adorable and why I had to take a picture. So every time he goes, he gets a little plastic spider or a little green army guy. So we'll see if he keeps it up!

big boy...or not? I got out some of Chase's old baby toys, and he seems to enjoy them more than she does

I forgot these

Can you tell who is in the same family?

Blessing Day

The blessing went very well, it was nice and simple and we ate lots of yummy food afterwards.

The dress that Kardyn wore was my Great Grandma's dress. It was pretty cool.

Just as Jason put up his camera to take this picture, Eve stuck her finger in her nose, it was pretty funny!

Random pics from Utah

Here are some random pictures from our trip to Utah.

Here is Chase riding the 4-wheeler with Hunter, notice his bottom lip, I think it's hilarious!
Chase riding the "kids" 4-wheeler with Grandpa, he LOVED this thing
Then Grandpa took him on the REAL thing and that was even cooler!

This is my niece Alaina, she's super photogenic, not to mention adorable!
Our good friend Desmond came to the blessing
My brother-in-law Jardan with Kardyn

This is how excited Dad was when Staci got her deer. She's been going hunting lots of years and this was her first!

Zane's helmet got stuck on his head! Nice.

Time to vent

I've always said I'm more emotional when I'm nursing a baby then when I'm actually pregnant, and for some reason today it's BAD. Today while both kids were sleeping, I actually had some time to lay down and try and take a nap. I usually tun on the TV, it helps me fall asleep, and an episode of Jon and Kate plus 8 came on. I guess they were going back to the hospital where their sextuplets were born and showing the kids all these places they stayed in the NICU and where Jon & Kate lived right after the babies were out of the hospital. They were in a condo until their house was done being built. Kate was emotional saying that "it was the last time their lives were simple, when they only had a family of 4." After she said that, I was just overwhelmed because that's how my family is right now, and I in no way shape or form feel that my life is simple. I know I complain a lot to my friends how difficult it is to have two children now and how hard it is to go places and try and take both kids. But after I see their family, and how they enjoy taking their kids places because they want their children to experience everything they can, I can't help but feel guilty as I stay in my house and only go out to the park or what not because it's too hard still for me to take my children places. I know I'm not adjusted fully yet to having my two kids, but I certainly can not imagine having eight. I know it's kind of a silly comparison, but I think it's all just brought on right now because Chase is at such a difficult stage and age. He overwhelms me a lot and I need to stop and remember what's most important and the things he's doing at the time, are not. That being said, I know how important my family is to me and I know that I want more kids, I just can't imagine right now how it's all going to be. I just have to remember that things get better and how much I love them both!

Until I get my pictures from my trip, enjoy this yummy recipe I made last night, Chase loved it!!

I didn't do it

I just wanted to let everyone know that Tim posted the info on Staci, my sister-in-law. I'm really excited for her and Tim, he got a deer as well. However, I did reprimand him for saying "she KILLED her first deer" I'll post pictures of Tim's deer later and more from my vacation when I get home!
