Bye bye

I just wanted to post this picture before we left to go out of town. One of my best friends just moved back to Utah. Carrie (along with Kathlene) was the first person to talk to me when I moved to Medford, once upon a time when we were all in the same Ward. For awhile we were all 3 in separate wards, then Carrie bought her house by me and moved into our ward. That was nice. I'll miss her sooooo much! She ALWAYS had a smile on her face, no matter what she was feeling like inside. She can always make me laugh and brings happiness where ever she goes! I'll miss all our fun girls nights and "Family Fun Center" times, movie nights, Halloween Parties, BBQ's, and ok, I guess we had a party any time there was a holiday! Hopefully we'll get to see you guys whenever we are in Utah, but it's always hard for us to pull away from our family to go and see friends. You'll be missed here Carrie, but I know your family will love having you around. Good Luck and I love you tons!

Deer season

We are leaving for Utah this weekend so that Tim can hunt with his Dad. He's been hunting with his family for lots and lots of years and it's been hard for him not to go since we've moved away. A friend of ours has a whole bunch of land that he lets us come and shoot our bows on, which is really fun. He has some nice targets. Tim's been over there a lot so that he can get his bow ready and get us a deer this year! Let's hope he comes back with one!
I'm a little nervous about our drive out though. We are hopefully driving through the night, it's about a 13 hour drive but that does not count stopping. I'm hoping that Kardyn will sleep well because I don't really want her waking up Chase when she cry's or we have to stop and feed her. They've been doing great at sharing a room though, she doesn't seem to really bother Chase much anymore which is really nice. Hopefully I can post pictures while we are gone, if not, I'll do them all when we get back!

Thank you!

One of my good friends Kendra sent Kardyn some adorable things! She is quite the little jewelry maker as well. So I had to take a picture to show Kendra how cute one of the bracelets is on her, and I just had to share the pics. Kardyn is quite the smiley baby, although I really can never quite capture it! The good smiles are always right BEFORE I take the picture! Oh well.
I had to post this picture because I think she secretly wants to belong in a gang, she just hasn't told me yet.

2 month check up

We went to the doctor today for Kardyn's 2 month check up. It's so sad watching them get their shots! Other than that she's doing well, weighing in at 10.5 lbs and is 22 inches long. So she hasn't gotten much taller, but at least she's filling out!
This is what Chase is saying while I'm taking Kardyn's picture..."mommy, cheese, mommy, cheese, cheese mommy, CHEESE!" I guess he really wanted his picture taken!

New Ride

The rising cost of gas has forced us to find ways to save money. We have a car and truck. Not a huge truck, but a truck non the less. Tim drives this to work and helps about a billion people move during the summer with it. Well, gas in that thing is not cheap. So....we decided it would be worth our money to buy him this little trail 90 motorcycle. There is a local guy in town who fixes them up and sells them really cheap (a few hundred dollars cheaper then we had been finding in the nickel and other places around town). The good thing about this is that Tim can fix things on it when something goes wrong. He's saved us so much money over the years working on our cars when they need to be fixed. But anyway, this thing gets like 70-90 miles per gallon or something crazy like that. Yesterday when he filled up the tank....$5. How easy on the pocket book is that?! He would be riding a bike to work but the road he has to take is not safe for bicycles. So this works great!

This weekend we were lucky enough to visit our good friends Tim and Amy and their son Jackson. They live in Utah but were up in Portland for a wedding, so we decided to drive up and see them! We played in the pool, but Jackson was a little scared, this is about all he did!
Chase on the other hand was a fish! I think his swimming lessons have helped a lot! He was jumping in like a mad man, belly flops and everything!
He wasn't even jumping this much at his last lesson, but I guess it must have given him some courage because Tim couldn't keep up with him!
Then we went to the Portland Zoo. I've been dying to take Chase to a zoo because Medford has nothing fun like this for kids. He had so much fun. This picture is really funny because the zoo keeper was telling us that they get this ice from a Zamboni at the mall. There is a huge mall in Portland called the Lloyd Center I think, and they have an ice rink. So they use the ice shavings to keep the bears happy! How funny!
Chase was a little scared of this bear, so Dad had to be in the picture with him
We also got to ride a train that took us to Washington Park, and that was fun! Chase and Jackson had a blast riding the train! What 2 year old boy wouldn't?

We had a fun weekend and we had so much fun visiting our friends! Hopefully we can get together again soon!

Tractor heaven

Last week Tim's work had a party at his bosses house, and what do you think Chase found? A tractor! Well, riding lawn mower, but it's a tractor to Chase. Rick was kind enough to take Chase for a ride and even let him drive it! He was in heaven!

Here we have Jordan and Kardyn. Jordan weighs about 15 lbs here (2weeks older) and Kardyn goes in to the doctor for her 2 month appointment this week. Any guesses on how much she weighs?

The time has come...

To bless my beautiful daughter! We are going to Utah to bless her because we want all our family to be there. My parents are making the short drive up from Arizona and we can't wait to see them! We also wanted to extend an invitation to anyone who would like to come. We are blessing her on Saturday, August 30th in Mayfield at 3pm. For those of you who don't know, it's about an hour to an hour and a half south of Provo. It's pretty close to Manti. We are blessing her in the church building there (probably the gym), but you can dress casual if you want. After the quick blessing at the church, we are going to Tim's parents house (in the same town) for lots of food and gabbing! So, if you are planning to attend, please leave a comment and your email address if I don't already have it, so that we can plan for the yummy food and I can also give you the address.

"Blue Slide"

Today was the last day of swimming lessons and they had "fun day." Every day that we go to lessons, Chase says he wants to go down the "blue slide." This is the blue slide.
Usually they go down this slide
So they put life jackets on the kids and took them to the blue slide. Most of them screamed when they were at the top. This is Cohen
I told them just to push Chase down, he was the last one to go down because he was scared! After all the times he's asked to go down it, he didn't even want to go today!
Here's Parker
After Chase went down, his class started going back to the shallow end, and Chase was going back to the deep end
Wait up for me!
He really likes to swim in the life jacket alone, I think he could do that all day! He's had a fun time at lessons, hopefully he actually remembers some of it!

You say it's your Birthday

Tim and I took the kids to Olive Garden on my birthday, which was Wednesday and that was fun. We haven't taken them both out to dinner yet and that was interesting. Chase was actually pretty good, luckily he had lots of bread sticks to keep him happy until his real food came out! Then last night I went out with a few of my girlfriends for dessert. I really wanted to try something new other than the same old stuff we have here in Medford, but it's pretty hard to find something good! Our town is growing but we still mainly have the chain restaurants that I'm sick of like Red Robin and Applebee's. So, we had heard about this new place called 38 on Central and decided to go there. (this picture is from their website!)
It was a really fun place! The kitchen is up here, above the "38" in kind of a loft area. And our menus came on silver clip boards and were just printed on paper, which we thought was a great way for them to save money but they looked cool at the same time. It was a fun atmosphere.
Tamara and I decided to get the S'mores for dessert. It was so fun! They brought out a little burner so we could roast our own marshmallows! And the graham crackers were homemade yumminess! It's funny because we were going to go to this Gelato place in Jacksonville, but it closes super early, and when we got our menu's here, half the desserts came with gelato from this place we were going to go to in the first place. It was kinda fun!

Sorry Carrie that your eyes are closed, my camera is broken and won't show me the picture after I take it! Gosh how did we ever get good shots with film!?

Thanks for coming out with me girls, and thank all your husbands for watching all the kids while we went out! I had lots of fun being with you guys for my birthday!

bugs and such

A friend of ours had bought a ladybug garden for his son and I guess he had way too many ladybugs. So he gave the rest to us for our garden! Chase was a little scared of the bugs but he thought they were pretty cool.

One of the best parts of living in Oregon is all the fresh produce that we have. If you don't already know, blackberries are like weeds here and you can pretty much pull over to the side of the road and pick them. A friend of ours has a lot of property and told us we could go and pick there. This was much easier for Chase because he was somewhat contained. However, I'm sad that I left my camera at home because it wasn't long until he started picking his own and his hands and mouth were stained red. Then decided to eat dirt...of course! So his face was covered in blackberry juice and mud, it was pretty cute and was pretty disappointed that I didn't bring my camera. However, later that night, I turned our sometimes tart fruit into yummy, sweet freezer jam!
On a more serious note...I finally received my book in the mail today and must leave my computer for now so I can read! I have a feeling the 754 page book may take me some time seeing as how whenever I get a moment to myself, no matter what I want to do, I fall asleep. I guess that's what having a super energetic 2 1/2 year old and an infant will do to you!

Last night Crissy and I thought it might be fun just to go and check out the "Breaking Dawn" release party at Barnes & Noble. They had some trivia games and a scavenger hunt and people were all dressed up. They wouldn't let me take any pictures in the store so I couldn't get any of people's costumes. But it was fun to go and see what the hype is all about at these release parties. Too bad Crissy & I bought our books online, so we didn't even get our books that night. Hopefully we'll get them on Monday. Since I haven't read the book yet, I'm staying away from my computer until I've read it, I don't want anyone or anything to spoil it for me!

Mommy Night

Last night Sue had a mommy pampering night at her house! We all got massages and to eat yummy food and just visit with each other. It was great!

What a nice relaxing evening Sue, Thanks!
